ABOUT THE SUMMIT

The Wisconsin Worship Summit is a one day event to equip, train, resource, grow, & network those who lead worship ministries and those who serve in them.

Regardless of size or denomination, literally every church has a Sunday morning experience and people who are responsible for crafting it and leading it. Whether it’s the pastor in your church that leads the worship arts ministry or the volunteers that serve week-in and week-out, our desire is to be a catalyst of growth for you and your teams.

In fact, the Summit is ultimately all about people development. Jesus Himself sets the precedence that, after the glory of God, other people should be thought of first and foremost in all that we say and do as fellow image-bearers of God (Mt. 22:37-40). We believe that when we develop the people in a worship ministry, their ministry will grow as well; and if a worship ministry grows, the people in their church grow closer to Christ.

We want to see leaders lead their teams better; we want to see volunteers who are thriving in their roles; we want to see volunteers coached and developed both musically and spiritually; we want to see churches that are wholeheartedly engaged in worship.

WORKSHOP TITLE
RECRUITING, DEVELOPING, AND EMPOWERING YOUR VOLUNTEERS

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
There is little debate that people are the most valuable asset to any ministry. This is especially true for any worship arts ministry. While we can spend time talking about which new songs to do, cool new arrangements, or what new technology to implement, we have to acknowledge that none of these things run without people. In this workshop, we’ll talk about strategies for recruiting new volunteers to your ministry, whether your church is rural or urban; we’ll talk about strategies for developing the volunteers that you have, and then eventually how you can hand off more leadership to those same volunteers so that they have ownership of the worship arts ministry in your church.

BIOGRAPHY
Matt has been serving as pastor of worship arts and college age ministries at Woodlands Church in Plover, WI for the past 5 years. Matt grew up in Antigo, a small town in north-central Wisconsin. Upon graduating high school, he moved to the Chicago-area to study Bible and classical guitar at Trinity International University. He has been leading worship since he was 14 years old in various contexts and considers himself lucky to do what he does. Matt has a passion for seeing worship leaders grown, developed, and empowered, while seeing churches engage with the gospel in deeper ways through the arts. Matt and his wife Jami have been married for almost 4 years and have one daughter, Adela.
