Presenter Information: Matt Wilhelm is Pastor of Worship Arts and College-Age Ministries at Woodlands Church in Plover, WI. After studying Biblical Studies and Classical Guitar at Trinity Intl. University, Matt served as a worship arts intern at Blackhawk Church in Madison, WI for a year and started at Woodlands Church in 2012. As one of the co-founders of the Wisconsin Worship Summit, Matt has a passion for developing leaders and seeing worship ministries at local churches grow. Workshop #3 – “The Rehearsal Before the Rehearsal: How to prepare for and run an effective rehearsal that will build the worship culture at your church.”Workshop Description: In this workshop, we’ll go over some practical systems and processes that will help you plan and run an effective rehearsal in a repeatable way so that you not only prepare the worship music but begin to build a worship culture. No matter if you have a standing mid-week rehearsal or bring it all together on Sunday morning I think you’ll be helped by what I’ve learned over the years - mostly through major trial and error.

Presenter Information: Ben currently serves as the interim director of worship for the Vine Church in Madison until he co-plants Eastside Church, Lord willing, in the spring of 2019. Most recently Ben served as the worship pastor at Door Creek Church in Madison. Ben began leading worship while in college and has developed a passion for shepherding the people of God gathered in worship as he leads them in music. His deep desire to see the Church truly encounter God fuels his passion to see worship leaders raised up and resourced in Wisconsin and around the world. Workshop #4 – “Creating A Culture Of Honor”Workshop Description: We will be talking about how to create an environment of encouragement, not competition. About seeing people how Jesus sees them. In this session we will learn about building each other up, even when we feel threatened. We will also learn some practical applications on how to demolish competition and just love on each other as Christ loves the church.

Presenter Information: I’ve been attending Journey Church (formerly Kenosha First Assembly) since I was born and have been a part of the worship team since a young age. At 19, I began leading a song or two in the main auditorium, in January of 2015 was given a position as one of the Saturday night service worship leaders, and in November 2018 was named the Worship Director for the church. It’s a dream come true for me to be working there and pouring into the team and the congregation on a consistent basis. I love worship, I always have, and I knew it was my passion. Workshop #5 – “Theology of Worship: A Matter of Life and Death”Workshop Description: In this workshop we’ll be examining the overarching story of the Bible and why worship in the local church is so vital to the life of the Christ-follower. Workshop #6 – “How the Old Testament Informs Our New Testament Worship”Workshop Description: This session will look carefully at the worship of God in the Old Testament (The sacrificial system, the Psalms) and see how the New Testament incorporates and develops some of the major themes, thus providing a continuity between the two testaments.

Workshop #10 – “Tightening the Rhythm Section”Workshop Description: In this session we will explore how to lay down the best foundation as a conglomerate, as well as each individual instrument within a rhythm section. The rhythm section within a worship team not only maintains the entire team within a tempo, but also sets the musical foundation upon which other instruments and vocalist build upon.

Workshop #11 - “Setting The Tone (Exploring the Art of Electric Guitar in Worship)”Workshop Description: Electric guitar is increasingly playing a more prominent role in worship music; and because of this, having great guitar tone is critical for the overall sound. Presenter Information: Dan Stanley has played electric guitar for nearly twenty years. He has led worship at conferences and in the local church. He currently serves on a worship team at Crossway Community Church in Bristol, WI, and he’s all about that tone. During the week, he wears a tie and works as a school administrator. He’s married to his duet partner, Chelsea, and they have three budding musicians.

Presenter Information: Ben is employed at Antigo High School as a Technology Support Specialist, with a mix of IT and AV responsibilities including managing a 600 seat performing arts venue. Ben has been involved with technology in churches for 20+ years, helping congregations from 50-2500. Ben is currently managing technology at Antigo Community Church. Presenter Information: Aaron Sowma currently lives in the heart of Wisconsin, Wautoma, where he serves as the Director of Worship & Arts. He spent 8 years in South Korea where God led him to help plant 3RD WAVE Ministry, 3RD WAVE Music, the IGNITE Missions Conference in Seoul, as well as reach the youth for Christ through teaching English. Aaron and his family moved back into the US in 2015 where he served as the Director of Worship and Arts for a church in Federal Way, WA before returning to the mid-west.
